We are happy to be able to provide Kärlingesund Retreat Center as a venue for your group. We have chosen to live and host retreats in this place for its unique qualities of beauty, silence, nature connection and spirit. It is also practically located near Gothenburg and easily accessible by public transportation from Oslo, Stockholm and Kopenhagen, as well as by international flights.
We welcome teachers, leaders, mentors and life coaches willing to walk the beautiful path of conscious co-creation with us. We support teachings from all spiritual traditions and paths of personal growth.
We specially welcome those that see this relationship not just a as a business opportunity, but also as a chance to connect with the core values of Kärlingesund RC: mutual respect, honor and joy.
The center is located at the end of a gravel road, inside the very beautiful Kärlingesund nature reserve, known for its ancient trees, cliffs, bird life, silence, beautiful walks, water canals, and open ocean with hund- reds of islands in the area. No neighbours are visible from the property, except the local cows, birds and wildlife.
Even though the area is a favorite summer holiday destination; for beaches, sailing, kayaking, biking, hiking and more, the surroundings of Kärlingesund Retreat Center are mostly very quiet, with only a few holiday-makers and some locals who go for walks and jog in the area.

If you wish to complement your course with additional therapies, such as on site massages, sauna, excursions, etc, we will try to find your best options to support your vision from beginning to end.

At Kärlingesund Retreat Center we focus on offering a heartfelt service and providing facilities of a simple luxury, embedded within unique nature. Our customers are invited to support our community through the simple seva (selfless action) see below (yoga karma) These simple but helpful acts, bring the “serving” and the “served” together as one united community, and is an act of gratitude and generosity towards our team.
As a first time teacher, we suggest that you come to visit our place and meet us in person before making your first booking.
After first contact and serious interest in hosting your retreat with us, we will send you our standard contract including all general information.
yogasalas
Sala – 104 sqm
Fits a circle of approximately 35 people or 35 on yoga mats or 80 people in cinema style.
Saletta – 40 sqm
Fits a circle of approximately 18 people or 10 on yoga mats
equipment:
2 flip chart boards, 35 meditation chairs, pillows, blankets & 30 yogamats.
Sound equipment in the big workshop room. It also has a cabled mic, CD-player and a mp3 option.
accomodation
All rooms have shared bathrooms and showers in the “Kursgård”
– 13 double rooms each with 2 single beds = 26 beds (each room with a unique design and style).
– Two double rooms each with a big bed = 4 beds to be used by couples or as single rooms
– One room with three single beds (located in a house outside the Kursgarden. Toilets and showers in the main house.)
– 6 toilets and 6 separate showers
Maximum is normally 33 guests. In the warm season and with our agreement this can amount to 40. In this case the neighbouring small houses can be rented and need to be booked in advance. The cottage and appartment can be could be used by teachers and their assistants.
Following the Swedish tradition and to be as ecological as possible, participants are requested to bring their own bed sheets and towels. If your group or single participants wish to have bed-linen provided we are happy to do so for an additional charge of 200kr inclusive of tax. Teachers will receive sheets from us free of charge.

– A tea-kitchen with 2 ovens and refrigerators that can be used by participants with special needs or for between meals.
– A dining room for up to 40 people with nature views in three directions.
– A lounge area with sofas & musical instruments.

– A deck with outdoor tables and a large sitting area in front of the dining room surrounded by flowers.
– A terrace in front of the big sala.
– A garden with a fireplace and several little cosy spots.
– In the garden, we have a sweat-lodge area which is dedicated to specific ceremonies, which is only used during special courses. Please inform participants to treat this area as a sacred space. The fireplace for the sweat lodge is not to be used as a camp fire. There is another fireplace that can be used in the garden, when the weather permits.
food & kitchen
The food served here is healthy, tasty and beautiful.
Flavoured with the chef ‘s personal touch and imagination, created with love and joy.
We mainly serve vegetarian food and use organically grown vegetables and local products, dressed with herbs grown in our own garden.
We kindly ask you to make any food requests ahead of time regading dietary needs.
We provide a delicious and abundant food buffet according to your wishes and course schedule.

traditions
Please let us welcome & inform each group personally before going into retreat or your first course session.
We invite all new teachers to arrive early on the check-in day (or if schedule allows a day before), to go through some practical details with us and have the chance to settle in the space of Kärlingesund RC.
Check-in for participants is from 4pm on.
Check-out at 3 pm on the last day.
The first meal then is dinner and the last meal is brunch or lunch.
karma yoga / working meditation
The center has a limited number of staff, who depend on some practical contributions from participants. This contribution is also, in our experience, an excellent way of practicing meditation in action. By being res ponsible for one‘s surroundings, and feeling more at home in the workshop and living space, this simple but helpful act brings the hosting team and guests together in gratitude.
The working meditation includes dishwashing, bringing out the food and clearing it away. Cleaning the floor in the salas, recycling and other simple manual tasks.
Our staff guides the working meditation; the workshop facilitators are invited to speak with the group about the spirit of working meditation, inviting joyful and willing participation in this practical work
participation in group by host
There will be a host available at all times to support the group. If possible, it would be nice for both the host and the group, if the host could participate in the group when feasible. Our hosts are all very expe- rienced in personal work processes, yoga and meditation.

Minimum paying participants for retreats are 20 people for a minimum of 6 days. With less than 20 paying participants we are open to find a solution with you that can work for both. Maximum is normally 33 participants plus teachers and assistants.

teacher concession
Free room and board for teachers/assistants:
1 – 15 paying guests = 1 teacher free
16 – 25 paying guests = 2 teachers/assistant free (in double room)
26 – 35 paying guests = 3 teachers/assistant free (in shared room)
booking fee & cancellation policy
– A tentative booking can be made in advance of a formal booking contract. In this case we will inform you before renting out to anyone else.
– The booking fee (deposit) is 10 000kr and will be be deducted from the final invoice. The contract is valid only when the booking fee has been received.
– The organiser pays for room and board for all participants as a lump sum payment, and organises room placement.
– Four weeks before your retreat starts, we will invoice you 50% of the total booking price.
– Full payment must be provided within 7 days after the retreat ends.
– We kindly ask all course leaders to be willing to have their events on our website. In this case we will ask for a fee of 500kr + 12% VAT in order to publish your event on our website.
cancellation fee
– No cancellation fee with tentative bookings.
– 5 000 SEK plus VAT when the group is cancelled more than 5 months in advance.
– No refund of booking fee when the group is cancelled less than 5 months in advance of retreat start.
– No refund in changes of group size made later than 7 dasy before the reterat starts.
*Please note that VAT will also be charged to international teachers. By law, if a service is given on Swedish
soil, VAT will be applied, regardless of wether the teacher is billing internationally or not.
